Membership Rejection

 

My name is Samuel Hirsch Fleischman

born in Brooklyn, New York 1964

 

I am of Moravian-Jewish Descent and in 2001,

I emigrated to Prague, Czech Republic and gained Permanent Residence in 2007.

 

In 2005, I purchased a property in the town of Mikulov near the burial place my my maternal great grandfather Samuel ben Hirsch Horowitz (whom I am named after) who served as Chief Rabbi of Moravia in the 18th century. I moved to Mikulov full time in 2017.

 

I have been a member in good standing at the Jewish Community of Prague (ŽOP) since 2001 and have held numerous and published leadership roles.

 

In 2006, I applied for membership in the Jewish Community of Brno (ŽOB) so that I may continue to serve in my grandfather’s synagogue in Mikulov.

I was immediately accepted.

However, under the laws of the Federation of Jewish Communities of the Czech Republic (FŽO) I would have to resign my ŽOP membership because it was forbidden to simultaneously be a member of 2 religious communities receiving Ministry of Culture funding.

 I decided to defer my ŽOB membership until this year when I re-applied in July, 2020.

 

It is important to note that due to security concerns in the Czech Republic, membership in a specific  religious community equals eternal ownership rights to all spiritual properties with guarantees of unfettered access to places of worship.

 

My most recent ŽOB membership application was rejected without reason despite the assurances from their Rabbi, Menashe Kliment certifying my being Jewish.

 

My requests for a detailed explanation have been ignored and I wish to vote and if eligible, stand for candidacy for ŽOB Board Elections scheduled for next month.

Rádi bychom provoz, plně funkční Mikve, spustili do 1. dubna 2021.

Naše společnost Hamilton Hudson s.r.o., a její licencovaní a ověření  subdodavatelé, jsou připraveni zahájit výstavbu ve středa, 1. července 2020.

Vrchní rabíni z rabínské rodiny Horowitzů z Prahy a Mikulova (1260-2 ___ a.d.) mají požehnání od aškenázských a sefardských vrchních rabínů Státu Izrael, stejně tak od kanceláře prezidenta České republiky a dalších zainteresované organizací.

Již v roce 2006 rodiny Horowitz a Fleischman nabízely tehdejšímu vedení Židovské obce v Brně okamžitý hotovostní vklad ve výši 1 000 000 Kč k zahájení výstavby Mikve, bohužel ale bez úspěchu se dohodnout s místními zástupci.

Nejen k doplnění židovského náboženského práva Halachic a tradice rabínské rodiny Horowitz (jak uvádí Židovské muzeum v Praze v Pinkasově synagoze na výstavě Horowitz Mikvah), ale také z praktického hlediska - mikulovská Mikva se musí nacházet na soukromém pozemku, s židovským vlastnictvím, který může pojmout až 100 hostů za hodinu, za dodržení veškerých zásad a pravidel. Synagoga v Husově ulici již není alternativou, jak tomu bylo před 14 lety. Vybudování Mikve by jistě neocenili především místní obyvatelé a také noví majitelé luxusních hotelů, kteří od té doby v této oblasti investovali nemalé finanční prostředky.

Vždy musíme na prvním místě respektovat bezpečnost a skromnost našich svatých a vážených hostů.

Od roku 2006 tedy ztrácíme drahocenný čas na schůzkách s vedením Židovské obce v Brně, která si nárokovala vlastnictví židovského majetku v Mikulově a jinde.

Po 14 letech trpělivého čekání a plné spolupráce z naší strany, nevidím již jinou možnost než předložit svůj návrh a stížnost přímo členům Židovské obce v Brně.

Z výše uvedených důvodů vás já, Samuel Hirsch HaLevy Fleischman, registrovaný člen a aktivní občan, který dvakrát kandidoval ve volbách do Židovské obce v Praze a do Federace židovských obcí České republiky, žádám, o znovu zvážení celé situace.

Jsem členem obou výše zmíněných organizací od roku 2001 a významně se podílím na rozvoji judaismu v Praze a Mikulově. Od téhož roku velkoryse přispívám každé židovské organizaci v České republice prostřednictvím Amerického židovského spojeného distribučního výboru.

Mezi sponzorované projekty patří například semináře brněnské České unie židovské mládeže pod vynikajícím vedením pana Pete Mandela, nebo podpora mezinárodní organizace EUJS „Summer U“ ve švýcarských Alpách.

Od roku 2005 také pravidelně sponzoruji mezinárodně uznávané výroční Yartzeit mého pradědečka Rabína Shmuel ben Hirsch HaLevy Horowitz – každý rok bez Mikve!

Tímto bych rád oznámil svůj záměr stát se potřetí kandidátem do Federace židovských komunit České republiky a poprvé kandidovat také do Židovské obce v Brně.

The Grand Rabbis of the Horowitz Rabbinical Dynasties of both Prague and Mikulov (1260-2___a.d.) enjoy the enthusiastic blessings of both the Sephardic and Ashkenazic Chief Rabbis of the State of Israel, the Office of the President of the Czech Republic and other interested organizations.

 

We have been delayed by the leadership and previous rabinat by the Jewish Community of Brno and its paid employees since 2006 when we offered an immediate cash deposit of 1,000,000.CZK offered by the Horowitz and Fleischman Family Trusts to commence Mikvah construction.

 

In addition to the Halachic - Jewish Legal Requirements as well as Horowitz Rabbinical Tradition as published by the Jewish Museum of Prague’s Pinkas Synagogue exhibition of the Horowitz Mikvah in the Jewish Cemetary in Prague and from a practical standpoint

The Mikulov Mikvah must be located on a Jewish Owned, Private Property that can accommodate 100 guests per hour with adequate changing and bathing facilities.

The Synagogue on Husova Street is No Longer an option as it was 14 years ago. A major Mikvah disruption today would surely be noticed and unappreciated by the local residents and also not by the new luxury hotel owners that have invested since then.

We must always respect the safety and modesty of our Holy and Distinguished Guests.

 

We wasted precious time at “meetings” with the leadership of the Jewish Community of Brno who claims “ownership” of “Jewish” Property In Mikulov and elsewhere.

 

 

 

Having cooperated fully and waited patiently for 14 years, I see no choice but to present my case, proposal and grievance directly to the members of the Jewish Community of Brno.

Contributed Generously to Every Single Jewish Organization in the Czech Republic
